The RMC (Repro Molding Compound) material dis- tinguishes itself through innovation by finely grinding composites, making them ideal for conventional ther- moset manufacturing processes.
Unlike approaches such as incineration, which may not be sustainable long-term and could face future prohibitions, our method offers a more viable solution.
Divided into two components – reinforcement fiber and filler – our RMC offers numerous benefits. With fiber lengths ranging from 1 to 20mm, our reinforcement fiber enhances mechanical strength and is cost-effective compared to new fiber or fiber from solvolysis and pyrolysis.
Additionally, our filler material replaces conventional options like calcium carbonate, resulting in a lighter material (density of 1.2 instead of 2.7) and potentially faster production times due to its compatibility with resin.
Moreover, with increasing legislation mandating the incorporation of recycled materials, our RMC allows thermosetting composite manufacturers to integrate 20-50% recycled content into their products, meeting market demands without significant cost increases or process changes.
